Renewable Energy Incentives - A SUMMARY

The great news is that by taking advantage of the various Government and industry Renewable Energy Incentives in conjunction with an accredited MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) installation company such as Bright Green Renewables, you will be entitled to receive annual, index-linked payments, which aim to repay up to 100% of your investment in a Renewable Energy system.

RHI - Renewable Heat Incentive

You will be paid for each kWh of renewable heat that your heat pump generates. For an average size property installing an air source heat pump, this would mean that you would receive around £10,000 over 7 years, or for a ground source heat pump around £20,000.

FiT - Feed-In Tariff

The Government's original Feed-in-Tariff scheme came to an end in March 2019. This is mainly because the cost of a typical Solar PV array has fallen significantly over the years. This means that the investment in Solar PV is justified simply by the resulting savings in electricity. However, the Government have announced that an SEG (Smart Export Guarantee) will be introduced in January 2020. This will oblige the larger electricity suppliers to offer an Export Tariff and will result in owners of Solar PV sytems being paid for the electricity that they generate and which is exported back to the grid.

It sounds almost too good to be true....

..but it isn't. The Heat Pump RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) and Solar PV SEG (Smart Export Guarantee) schemes are approved Government supported schemes to encourage the growth of Renewable Energy production and Green Energy use in the United Kingdom. These generous grants are tax free and are reviewed annually to increase in-line with the Retail Price Index (RPI). They are designed to help repay the cost of your investment.

Don’t delay - The generous RHI & SEG incentives are proving to be extremely popular and may not be available indefinitely.
